Rabbi Elliot Hecht
Rabbi Elliot Hecht has been with the Hebrew Academy of Nassau County since 1999. In 2004, he assumed the position of Principal of the Middle School. Prior to that, Rabbi Hecht served in various capacities including: teacher, mechanech (grade advisor), and Assistant Principal. He was thrilled to join the faculty as he is a graduate of HANC’s Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. Rabbi Hecht holds a Bachelor’s degree from Yeshiva University, Smicha from RIETS (Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary), a Master’s degree and specialist’s certificate in administration and supervision from Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education and Adminstration.
Prior to joining HANC, Rabbi Hecht taught in various Hebrew Schools across Long Island. Rabbi Hecht also worked in informal education for Long Island NCSY as an advisor and director of programming. Additionally, he served as the youth director at the Young Israel of Plainview.
Rabbi Hecht’s philosophy of education is aligned with differentiating instruction and helping to ensure that the needs of each and every child are met. His ultimate goal is that each and every child is able to reach his/her full potential.
