Our Philosophy and Mission
Our College Guidance Department’s team specializes in helping students discover the endless possibilities that await for them after high school. We believe that every student has an incredible future ahead of him, and we strive to make sure he knows how to make the best use of his talents throughout his four years here and to make educated decisions regarding his future. We pride ourselves on our effective, individualized approach to guidance where we meet the specific needs of each student.
At HANC, our students receive personalized guidance sessions with a counselor who they feel sometimes knows them better than they know themselves! Students always know they can go to a counselor to ask questions, discuss options, and even work one-on-one with a college essay advising specialist for their college essays. Our College Guidance Department ensures that our students feel confident that their applications are the best they can be and that they are in good hands.
Workshops and Seminars
Our College Guidance Department hosts workshops and seminars for both parents and students. Some of these may include CUNY workshops, financial aid nights, and visits from colleges.
In addition, every other year, we host a College Fair & Panel Night where we welcome a number of admissions officers who share about the admission’s process at their respective schools. This unique opportunity allows students to potentially meet the person who may be reading their applications!
Our December 2015 College Fair & Panel was a huge success! Admissions officers from SUNY Albany, SUNY Binghamton, University of Chicago, Cooper Union, Hofstra University, Queens College, Touro’s Landers Colleges and Yeshiva University attended.
Acceptances and Matriculations
Colleges and universities respect HANC’s rigorous duel-curriculum as well as the expansive list of ways students contribute and take on leadership roles--all of which are taken into consideration during the application process.
